Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility Award is open to all businesses or social enterprises in the
North Devon area regardless of size, ownership, sector or length of trading. This award
recognises businesses which have made a significant contribution to the wider community
of North Devon and the surrounding area or have shown outstanding concern for the
environment. This could include staff volunteering, fundraising or supporting the charitable
sector in other innovative ways. This could also include use of environmentally friendly
products, effective recycling & new initiatives to minimise environmental impact.

The judges will consider organisations who have achieved business success but whose
primary aims are non-profit making. Judges will want to see clear evidence of commercial
awareness and innovative strategies complemented by selfless aims that go beyond the
core purpose of the organisation.

Profitability will be a factor as will measurable success in achieving its goals and in building
strong links to businesses and the local community

Entry Criteria

The judging panel will consider the criteria below in assessing your application. It does not
need to demonstrate all these elements, but it will allow you to develop the story behind
your success.

  • Please provide evidence of your marking activity

In no more than 500 words, please provide a brief description of your business, and
evidence as much as possible to the key points looked for by the judging panel.
Please tell us about your success story. What did you want to change? What were
your objectives? How did you go about it? List your achievements below. Please
quantify these as far as possible with your most recent results. What benchmarks
are you comparing them to demonstrate your progress.
