Judi Spiers

Judi Spiers started on regional television Westward and TSW before moving onto BBC One with Pebble Mill and Radio Two with her own Saturday show. She returned to the West Country and for 15 years presented her own hugely successful radio show for Radio Devon and since leaving has presented shows for Radio Exe and Torquay’s The Breeze. She has a weekly column in WMN and Plymouth Herald and contributes to Devonlife. Judi is much in demand at the regions Book and Literary festivals as well as being the Patron of the Appledore Book festival. A keen charity worker she is Patron of WESC, The Shekinah Mission,Vice Patron of Dream Away and Families for Children, and Ambassador for Age UK and Hospiscare among various others.

Esther Pearson, Director South West Coast Path Association

Esther Pearson has been working in the charity sector for 20 years. Initially inspired by her volunteer work in Devon charities, Esther was supported by her employer and their corporate social responsibility policy to use her private sector marketing skills for the good of charities. After developing her marketing and fundraising skills working in London for national charities, Esther returned to the South West and has worked in employed, volunteer and freelancing roles to progress the work of various charities through strategy development, income generation, project management and recruiting and managing good people. She rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer for a national charity and sport governing body in 2010 and has continued her passion for health and wellbeing and the outdoors sector in her work as Director of the South West Coast Path. During her 3 years with the charity Esther has created a business plan, strong collaborations with partners, including Visit Britain, and delivered income generation in excess of £2 million – enabling the charity to reach its dual ambitions of promoting and protecting the South West Coast Path as one of the World’s greatest walking routes.
